Statement from State Representative Brandon Dillon (D-Grand Rapids) on his support of a Constitutional Amendment introduced today by House Democrats to guarantee that money from the state's School Aid Fund goes only to K-12 schools

“I’ve hosted town halls on this issue and talked to residents across our city who believe this funding belongs only to our schools – and I agree with them 100 percent. Unfortunately, it’s becoming clear that the Governor and other elected officials simply have different priorities and refuse to listen to the people of Michigan. These resources should not be funding massive tax cuts for giant corporations – they should be going to our schools, where they belong, so that they can help give our kids a world-class education. This plan will give Michigan voters the power to protect funding for our schools and the futures of our children.”
